Your Feedback Is Important to Us

Please note that because this is an early preview version, there may still be some issues to resolve. Every computer is different and there may be some problems that we still haven't found.

We've tested this product internally, but this is the first time it will be available to users with different computers.

Please only install ProWritingAid for your desktop if you're happy to help us create a great product, and you're willing to be patient with us.

If you experience any issues, please report them to: preview@prowritingaid.com

Or you can report them on our UpVoty page.

How Do I Install ProWritingAid Everywhere?

Step 1: Download this file.

Step 2: Run the file ProWritingAidSetupBeta.exe that you downloaded, and follow the instructions in the installer.

Step 3: You will start to see ProWritingAid highlights in your apps. You can then control ProWritingAid Everywhere from your task pane.

What Is an "Early Preview"?

An early preview version is one that is not publicly available but is designed to allow existing customers to see the functionality that is coming and to give us their feedback.

We want you to have your say on how we integrate ProWritingAid into your desktop.

What Is the Minimum System Requirement?

Because ProWritingAid Everywhere uses features of the latest Microsoft Operating Systems to work, you need to be running at least Windows 10, version 1903 (or newer) or Windows 11.

Please check your version of Windows before installing.

What Apps Will ProWritingAid Be Available In?

ProWritingAid will appear in many apps on your Windows desktop. These include: Discord, Evernote, LibreOffice Writer, Notepad (on Windows 11), Notion, Scrivener, Slack, Slite, WhatsApp, and yWriter.

In Microsoft Word, you'll still be able to use our Word add-in through the ProWritingAid toolbar.

Are There Limitations?

Yes. Some apps such as Scrivener don't have full support yet. This means that we can't show highlights directly in the text. To work with these apps, you'll need to click the ProWritingAid icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your text area. This will open a sidebar where you will see all of your suggestions. When you click on a suggestion, it will select the related text in the text editor.

Where we can, we're working with the publishers of partially supported apps to improve support.

How Will ProWritingAid Appear?

In supported apps, you will see two things. As you type, you will see highlighted suggestions, which you can click and accept. In the bottom right-hand corner of your app's window you should also see a small teal-colored round icon.

If you hover over this, you can turn off ProWritingAid in that specific app, or open ProWritingAid's real-time sidebar where you will see more information about your writing.

What Feedback Should I Provide?

Any feedback you have will be very useful.

If you experience any issues, please provide as much information as you can, including details of which operating system you are using and the version of the app you are experiencing issues in.

Screenshots and videos really help us understand issues better. If you have general feedback on usability or features, then that is also really helpful.

As this is just the first version of ProWritingAid Everywhere, we will continue to improve it over the coming months.

If you experience any issues, then please report them to: preview@prowritingaid.com

Or you can give feedback on our UpVoty page.

How Do I Disable ProWritingAid in Specific Apps?

If you hover over the ProWritingAid icon in the bottom-right corner of your app's text area, you will see a power button. To turn ProWritingAid off in that app, click the power button.

How to turn ProWritingAid off

How Do I Re-enable ProWritingAid in an App?

Step 1: You'll find the ProWritingAid icon in the Windows taskbar. If you right-click on that, you will see a menu.

Step 2: Choose the "Settings" option to open the settings window.

Step 3: Under Blocked Apps click "View."

Step 4: You will see the app you blocked and have the option to re-enable it.

What Happens If I Don't Like It?

You can easily uninstall ProWritingAid, but we'd also really love your feedback to help us improve. This is new, so your feedback is really important to help us create the best product possible.

How Do I Uninstall ProWritingAid Everywhere?

Step 1: Go to the Control Panel.

Step 2: Choose to Add/Remove programs.

Step 3: Select ProWritingAid Everywhere and click "Uninstall."

How Will I Get Updates and Fixes?

We will make lots of improvements and bug fixes to ProWritingAid Everywhere over the coming weeks and months.

When there is a new update, your system will automatically download it and it will run the next time you re-start your computer.

When Can I Expect the Full Version to Be Launched?

We're hoping to launch the full version during the second half of 2022, but this all depends on the volume of feedback that we get.

When this new program is officially released, will my existing lifetime license will cover it?
Hey there! I'm afraid it's a bit too soon to know for certain, as we're still in the first steps. However, we will keep our users posted!
Thanks, understood. It is great that it works with Windows 10/11 apps such as mail. I hope it can get full Scrivener integration, being my main daily driver. That would encourage me to pay for an upgrade.
All licenses are Premium licenses and will give you full access to all of PWA's Premium features. The only upgrade that one can make is to upgrade to Premium Plus, which includes plagiarism checks. When you say you'd like a "full Scrivener integration," do you mean having PWA appear inside Scrivener itself, rather than uploading your Scrivener files to PWA?
For me, the bottom line would be access to the full PWA editor directly from Scrivener - currently, the workflow is rather awkward, as I have to exit Scrivener before loading a document in the PWA desktop app. I tired of doing this and now cut and paste between Word to use the Office add-in. PWA everywhere displays a window within Scrivener, which is great for catching issues whilst writing - if that window had a link to access the full editor (same as the Chrome browser extension), it would be an ideal solution.
Thank you for your honest feedback! I've passed this on to our development team. :)
One of our development team members replied when I told them your feedback. He said you make a good point. He also said: "I'm curious about what the user misses that's in the full editor but not in Everywhere. If it's the reports, then the good news is they are on our to-do list. If it's the highlights, unfortunately, we can't show them because of technical limitations." Could you please tell me if you were most interested in the reports or the highlights?
Hi, I write novels and short stories. When I'm in writing mode, the help that PWAE offers in Scrivener is good enough. It enables me to correct things without breaking my workflow. However, when I'm editing a draft, I need more of the toolkit from the full editor. As a starting point, for editing, the reports are useful; they pinpoint where I need to focus - but they are not essential. Highlights are better if they keep the process within Scrivener. As I mentioned, the main point for me is to access more of the full editor toolkit directly from Scrivener. Thanks
Thank you again! I have, once again, passed this along. I will let you know if the team has any other questions. Please feel free to comment again if you have anything to add, or you can send an email to hello@prowritingaid.com.
Will this be available for Adobe Programs like InDesign or Acrobat?
Ideally, we would like to include Adobe programs with this! We're trying to gauge which are the most popular (we've seen InDesign suggested several times). So, to answer your question, it is possible - there are just a few things we have to work out.
Will there be a Mac version in the future?
Yes! We are working on a Mac version right now. Please look forward to it soon!
Oh, I so can't wait for this! I hope very soon :)
Hi, is the early preview of Everywhere for windows covering Microsoft Powerpoint at this stage? Would love to test it out there too, looks good so far in emails and Word!
Yes, it does! Please try it and let us know if you have any issues at hello@prowritingaid.com :)
Hey, this is a great job from PWA teams, we thank you guys. However, as I pass more than 70℅ of my time using my smartphone, I would like to suggest a mobile version (android) as a keyboard if possible.
Hey there! Thank you for your comment. We are aware that many people write on the go. I believe more mobile options are on the radar, but we do not have plans set in stone on how and when we're going to do this. If you'd like, you're welcome to suggest this on our feedback website, Upvoty, at https://prowritingaid.upvoty.com.
It stopped working. I reinstalled, but PWA everywhere does nothing at all. No icon appears in any programme. This is useless.
Hey there! Thank you for your comment. Have you sent in a query to our support team at hello@prowritingaid.com? They'd be more than happy to help!
I use the desktop lifetime version of ProWritingAid for Scrivener. Since, I become 77 in a couple of months and make more inadvertent errors than I thought I ever would, it is a great help to me. As a longtime professor, I wrote many 'write-or-perish' books and articles. After I retired, I taught myself to write fiction and tried my hand at a debut novel. When I was invited to try out the new ProWritingAid Everywhere, I used it for a once-through check of my novel. The suggestions for changes were, as expected, about the same as the desktop version's (I accepted and rejected the usual number) . But being able to review my work from within Scrivener was even more efficient than I imagined, and a pleasure. I realize it is still in development, but ProWritingAid Everywhere is already useful as it is. I was disappointed when my seven trial days were up. Now, will I invest in it when it becomes officially available. If I was sixty, it would be a no-brainer. But my budget is less now and my brain is slowing and sputtering. So, we'll see!
Hey there! Thank you for your comment! If you're a Windows user, PWA Everywhere should still be available to you - it shouldn't only be a 7-day trial. Please write in to hello@prowritingaid.com if you're having trouble getting Everywhere to pop up for you! :)
