What is Novel Summer Camp?

Pack your bags. Camp begins July 13, and this time, your story's coming with you.

Meet your cabin

When Novel Summer Camp starts, you'll be matched into a small group of 10–15 writers on the same track as you.

Your cabin is an intimate space to share progress, swap encouragement, and find your people, whether you're writing your first chapter or polishing your third draft.

Work towards your goal

Focus on a word count goal, a revision milestone, or a plotting target—whatever fits your project and your summer.

Write alongside other campers in daily sprints, track your word count progress on our Novel Summer Camp dashboard, and earn badges to celebrate your achievements.

Learn from the best

Each week, join craft workshops, s'mores social hours to meet other writers, and campfire story circles where you can share your work.

Our camp counselors are published authors and industry pros who actually show up, answer questions, and know their craft.

Stories from past campers

I really appreciate the resources provided for NovNov, and NovBegin, and have been making as much use of them as possible. I’ve learned SO much in the past few months just by being here, joining webinars, watching replays, and talking to people in the community. Having all of these things at my disposal is a massive privilege and I feel a lot more confident in my abilities as a writer because of them.

I attended so many writing sprints. These writing sprints helped me establish a schedule and inspired me to get over 50k words in a month. I have written more in this one month that I have ALL year! 10/10 I’m definitely going to keep attending them (all year if I can)!

I found it through one of my local writers. They told me that PWA was the next step up to growth in my writing … and I took their advice. While wondering what was happening with November this year, they stepped up … so I joined. SO glad I did. This community is amazing thus far!

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Novel Summer Camp cost?

Novel Summer Camp is totally free. You just need to sign up for a free ProWritingAid account to participate.

Do I have to join a cabin group?

Nope — cabins are optional. If you want the accountability and community, we'll match you with a small group of writers on your track. If you'd rather go solo, you can still access all the sprints, webinars, and events on your own.

What's included in Novel Summer Camp?

When you join Novel Summer Camp, you'll get four weeks of daily writing sprints, expert-led craft webinars, intimate fireside chats with published authors, and weekly campfire story circles where you can share your work. You'll also get access to a dashboard to track your progress and get matched into a cabin group of other writers working towards similar goals.

Do I have to write every single day?

Not at all. Novel Summer Camp is designed to flex around real life. Set a goal that works for you, dip in and out as your schedule allows, and use the community to keep you moving on the days you do show up.

What if I'm not working on a new draft. Can I still join?

Absolutely. Novel Summer Camp has dedicated tracks for editing and revision as well as plotting and planning, so whether you're polishing a finished manuscript or mapping out your next project, there's a place for you here.
