To access ProWritingAid in Microsoft Word on your Windows computer, you must install Desktop Everywhere for Windows.
Once you have installed Desktop Everywhere for Windows, you'll be able to access ProWritingAid directly in Microsoft Word.
You'll find real-time grammar, style, and spelling suggestions in your text and can run advanced analysis by selecting reports from the main menu.
How do I access ProWritingAid in Microsoft Word on Mac?
To access ProWritingAid in Microsoft Word on Mac, you'll need to install Desktop Everywhere for Mac.
Once you've installed the integration, you will see the ProWritingAid icon appear in Microsoft Word. The icon will turn orange when ProWritingAid finds suggestions for improvements and display a green check when it finds none.
You can access more advanced analysis by clicking on the "Report" icon from the menu. You can toggle on focus mode by clicking on the "eye" icon if you want to avoid distractions while drafting.
What versions of Microsoft Word does the ProWritingAid integration work in?
For Windows, our integration will work for Microsoft Office 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, and 2019 running on any version of Microsoft Windows. However, Word 2007 and 2010 are no longer actively supported by Microsoft. Because of this, you may experience issues when trying to use ProWritingAid in Word 2007 and 2010 that are outside of our control.
For Mac, our integration will work for Word 2016 and higher.
Does ProWritingAid require an internet connection to work in Word?
Yes, to check your document and provide corrections, the ProWritingAid integration must have a working internet connection. It cannot work while offline.
How do I uninstall the integration on Windows?
Open a Word document and click "File." Click on "Options" in the bottom left.
Click on 'Add-ins' from the menu that pops up, and click the "Go" button.
Select the ProWritingAid Add-in on the list that appears and click "Remove."
Click "OK" and the program has been uninstalled.
How do I uninstall the integration on Mac?
Go to your computer's control panel.
Choose Programs and Features from the options in Control Panel. You will see a list of your installed programs.
Select ProWritingAid Everywhere, and click the Uninstall button.
