NovNov 2025 Recap

What an amazing few months it has been.

Novel November began as a simple idea: to give writers around the world a place to gather, learn, and make progress on stories that have been living inside them for far too long.

What happened instead for our inaugural NovNov was bigger than anything we could have imagined... and that is entirely because of our amazing community.

This year, 68,000 writers from all over the world joined ProWritingAid for Novel November.

The writers who participated carved out time, fought resistance, supported one another, and pushed their stories forward. And in 30 days, they collectively wrote more than 353 million words.

That is hundreds of millions of sentences, chapters, worlds, characters, sparks of emotion and breakthroughs. That is 353 million moments where someone chose to write instead of waiting for “someday.”

The entire ProWritingAid team feels so honored to have witnessed these efforts.

And the excitement didn't stop at writing.

NovNov Supports Room to Read

Thanks to the efforts of the NovNov community, ProWritingAid also raised over $7,000 for Room to Read, helping bring literacy and educational access to children around the world.

Our writers didn't just work on their own stories, they helped make it possible for more stories to be told everywhere.

A Massive Program of Events

Across October, November, and December, we hosted over 150 events: workshops, interviews, sprints, craft sessions, write-ins, and conversations spanning time zones across the world.

We were joined by incredible bestselling authors and creative voices including Madeline Miller, Tomi Adeyemi, Graham Bartlett, and so many more who generously shared their insights, encouragement, and behind-the-scenes wisdom with our community.

And while our workshops and interviews led by experts were certainly exciting, it was the writing sprints that truly moved our team. On these daily power hours, hundreds of writers gathered to work together and encourage each other when it got tough.

Simply put: our writing community made NovNov the incredible success that it was.

NovNov 2026 and Beyond

Novel November will return in 2026, and we’re already deep into planning ways to make it even bigger, more inspiring, and more creative than ever before.

You can go ahead and save your spot for next year's program right now.

But you don’t have to wait twelve months to keep going.

Our ProWritingAid Community is open year-round, and December programming is already underway. Daily writing sprints continue. Writers’ Circle chat spaces continue.
