Hey ProWriters! One of our favorite things about the ProWritingAid community is just that—community. We love our little corner of the writing world, and that’s why we always want to share as much writing content with you as possible.

Today, though, we’re focussing on something a little different but so incredibly important. Here’s our chance for our community to give a little back—while still getting some amazing writing advice along the way!

September 26: Writer as Fearless Citizen: The Role of the Writer-Citizen in These Unprecedented Times

A Benefit Supporting Black Lives Matter

On September 26, author Albert Flynn DeSilver will be hosting an extraordinary benefit writing workshop featuring bestselling author, Cheryl Strayed.

It’s been a crazy year. So much has happened in both our communities close to home and in our wider human community. In this workshop, Albert and Cheryl will explore the role of the writer-citizen in these unprecedented times through a full day of exercises.

This is a full day workshop with morning and afternoon sessions. You’ll find out how to harness the power of your writer voice by taking part in writing workshops alongside Cheryl Strayed.

The event will cost $249, and here’s the best bit: 25% of net profit proceeds will benefit the Black Lives Matter movement via the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

This event will sell out fast, so register now to secure your place:

25% of Profits Will Go to the NAACP

The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund is America’s premier legal organization fighting for racial justice. They seek to expand democracy, eliminate disparities, and achieve racial justice through key structural changes.
