Noun Verb Confusion

A noun is a person, place, or thing. A verb is an action word. Sometimes writers accidentally confuse when they should use a noun and when they should use a verb, as in the example below:

• Incorrect: We need to make a decide about this.
• Correct: We need to make a decision about this.

The correct construction is "verb + a + noun." If you are using "verb + a + verb," then you're setting up the sentence incorrectly.
